The mission of the Nevada Department of Veterans Services is to honor and support Nevada’s veterans and their families. Dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for veterans, the department provides services such as benefits counseling, assistance with VA claims, and operates two state veterans homes that offer exceptional care. Our team also oversees memorial cemeteries in Northern and Southern Nevada, ensuring dignified burial services and military honors. Through collaboration and connection with additional resources, we strive to make Nevada a top state for veteran support, helping veterans access a wide range of services and benefits.

Open Positions

Registered Nurses

Earn $66,252 - $129,393 / year

Under general supervision, Registered Nurses provide professional nursing care in settings such as hospitals, clinics, and correctional institutions. They assess, plan, and coordinate care for patients with physical and mental health needs, ensuring treatments align with the Nurse Practice Act. This role emphasizes compassionate care, accurate documentation, and collaboration with healthcare teams to promote patient well-being.

Qualification
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse.

  • CPR certification or ability to obtain CPR certification by appointment.

Licensed Practical Nurses

Earn $47,543 - $90,097 / year

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, Mid-Level Practitioner, or physician, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) provide general or psychiatric practical nursing care in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act.

Qualification
  • Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Nevada, with 1 year of experience as an LPN.

  • CPR certification or ability to obtain CPR certification by appointment.
