Under general supervision of a higher level nurse, Psychiatric Nurses provide professional nursing care to individuals with developmental delays, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities or social, emotional and/or behavioral disorders, in an institution or out-patient setting in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act.

Under general supervision of a higher-level nurse, Correctional Nurses provide professional nursing care to patients in a correctional setting in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act and Nevada Revised Statutes.

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, Mid-Level Practitioner, or physician, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) provide general or psychiatric practical nursing care in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act.

Under general supervision, Registered Nurses provide professional nursing care in settings such as hospitals, clinics, and correctional institutions. They assess, plan, and coordinate care for patients with physical and mental health needs, ensuring treatments align with the Nurse Practice Act. This role emphasizes compassionate care, accurate documentation, and collaboration with healthcare teams to promote patient well-being.

Mental Health Counselors provide counseling, case management, direct clinical services, program development, policy implementation, community and home based services, and behavioral and human services to mentally ill, mentally disabled and/or emotionally disturbed clients in an outpatient, residential, community or similar setting.

Corrections Counselors within in the Nevada Department of Corrections provide mental health services to offenders in a correctional setting including interviews, behavioral planning and implementation, consultation, psycho-educational classes, research, and training.
